Welcome to Fur Majesty
Fur Majesty is a dog grooming shop, and this post is about how we run it — because "we treat your dog like family" is what every grooming website says, and it does not tell you anything you can check.
Cage-free, and appointment-based
Dogs here wait in open suites rather than crates, and we book so that arrivals are staggered instead of stacked. That is not only about comfort: a dog who spends four hours waiting for a 90-minute groom goes home tired and stressed, and is harder to groom next time.
It does mean we run a smaller book than a high-volume shop. We think that is the right trade.
You can watch
There are cameras on the grooming floor, and as a client you can open the live stream from your portal while your dog is with us. The stream is video only — there is no audio on the client stream, by design.
You will also get a status as the appointment moves along: checked in, bathing, grooming, ready for pickup. The intent is that you never have to ring up to ask how it is going.
What we offer
- Bath & Brush — 45 minutes, $38. Bath, blow-dry, brush-out, nails and ears.
- Full Groom — 90 minutes, $65. The above plus a full haircut and style.
- Deshedding Treatment — 75 minutes, $55. For double coats, in shedding season.
- Doodle / Teddy Trim — 100 minutes, $80. The rounded teddy-bear finish, and honest advice on a length you can maintain.
- Hand-Strip — 120 minutes, $95. Correct coat care for wiry breeds.
- Puppy's First Groom — 60 minutes, $45. Short, gentle, and mostly about getting the introduction right.
What this blog is for
Mostly practical things: how to bathe a dog without leaving it damp, how to trim nails without hitting the quick, why shaving a double coat backfires, and what hand-stripping actually is. If there is something you would like written about, tell us at your next appointment.
